Since the speedometer is simply getting a signal from the PCM and is a volt meter, it will go to zero when the engine is off. If it is stuck at 30 you just need a new speedometer gauge.

Hi all! I am considering a lowering kit for my 2016 SS and the GM kit seems to have all the bits and pieces, like struts, springs and shocks etc. But its pretty expensive compared to third party...
I read of someone who simply took apart their keys and and put them back together and they started working again. I do not know if perhaps something was reset, or what. Goodluck!
